Bananagramas:
- Everyone has 11 tiles
- Always have 11 tiles in your hands!!
- YOUR TURN: Either spell a word OR you can swap a letter tile for a new one
- You have to have 10 words as a group by the end of "juego" time - take a pic and post to the assignment
- Assign one person as the "caller" (be LOUD and CLEAR in SPANISH)
- The caller keeps the stack of cards in her/his hand
- Caller flips the cards quickly and yells out the Spanish word
- Everyone else places beans on those words and tries to get a BINGO
Spot It:
- Put the VOCABULARY guide on the table for all to see in case people need it
- Assign one person to be the "Card Flipper"
- Card Flipper flips over 2 cards at a time
- ALL players, INCLUDING FLIPPER, have to find where there is a commonalty
- The commonality might be:
- word-word match
- picture-picture match
- word-picture match
Puzzles - Los rompecabezas:
- Choose if you're going to be orange, blue, green or yellow
- Break up the puzzle pieces - BE HONEST WITH THIS!! :) It's fun and great for the brain
- Either work as a group to sort and put together picture side up OR you can each just grab what's yours and work independently - Decide as a crew
- When you have YOUR puzzles (example: all blue pieces have been put together picture side up), you have ONE MORE STEP
- Flip all puzzles you have picture down, so color-side up
- Number paper 1-10
- Write the English equivalent of each word in the order that you have the puzzles placed. If I have from top to bottom: agua, vaso, océano - I'd write on my paper water, glass, ocean
- Take a pic of the paper next to the puzzles completed and post to assignment
La pirinola:
- You could all "wager" something like pencils, some loose change, etc. BUT you do NOT have to :) You can also just see who'd be lucky in Las Vegas
- Divide up all the coins in the bag EVENLY amongst participants
- If there's an odd extra coin, either flip for it or put it back in the bag
- You spin the pirinola
- Pon 1 / 2/ 3 = put 1, 2 or 3 (put that quantity of your coins in the middle)
- Toma = take (grab the coins in the middle of the group that have been tossed out)
- T Todo = toma todo = take it all!!!!!
Bingo:
- Assign one person as the "caller" (be LOUD and CLEAR in SPANISH)
- Everyone else gets a BINGO board
- Play BINGO! Have a blast ;)
Chutes and Ladders:
- Create a game piece (bean, earring, Skittle, etc.)
- Roll the di at YOUR TURN
- Move the game piece of your choice to that square
- You have to say the WORD IN SPANISH or you must return to the former square
Manzanas:
- Everyone always has 5 RED cards in their hands
- The judge picks a green apple card the stack of green cards
- Judge reads the word aloud & places it face up on the table
- ALL OTHER PLAYERS (except the judge) quickly choose the red apple card from their hand that is best described by the word on the green apple card played by the judge.
- Toss all the RED cards into center of table
- Judge read them and picks the best one
- You get ONE POINT if the judge selects your RED card
- TAKE TURNS BEING THE JUDGE
